So this is my first 'blog.' I've never really been into these before, but the hubby wanted me to give it a try and I do love writing about random things. First off I shall warn you all I'm about seven months pregnant, love role playing, and I enjoy novel & video games. So my blog may jump around to any of those subjects at any given date and time.
For my first blog I think I'll ramble a little about being pregnant and video games. Because some day {like today} it sort of unnoticeable. I know he's there, I feel him, and my stomach didn't used to be this big. But then there are other days, {like 2 days ago} where I just feel... pregnant. Every time I get up or sit down I feel fat because the stomach is there and it isn't going anywhere for a while. {It doesn't help every morning my husband enjoys smirking at me and saying, 'you're so pregnant'} On those days I like to just laze about as much as I can because I just don't have the energy to do anything. Thankfully I'm passed the morning sickness phase... that phase really really sucks.
One thing I really love about it though is interacting with our soon-to-be-born son, who already has quite he personality. Sometimes I'll poke my belly only to feel him 'poke' back. I can usually tell if it's a punch or a kick, but sometimes it's impossible to guess. And I love watching my husband talk to him. Guess I'm just really looking forward of the official start of our family.
Now that you have patiently gotten through my mommy ramblings, I have two games I want to share. Both are very old, one is the Legend of Mana for the PS1 {recently purchased from the Playstation Network.} I adored this game when I was younger and the feeling hasn't gone away at all. I love going through the different areas with my little Rabite & the Orphans I took in earlier in the game. A lot of it is nostalgia, but since I never beat the game I've finally come to the part where things are new! {Or at least I don't remember this part well.}
When we first got the game I sat down and played it for about 14 hours over the course of three days. But I stopped because well we had a lot of errands to run and I had role plays to respond to. {I don't like when my posting list gets above 3 characters, it makes me feel very lazy.} Hopefully I can get my list emptied tonight so I can go back to playing it tomorrow. After all I don't want my little sister to beat it first. =>.>= It makes me extremely happy that my younger sister {who played as my 2nd payer the first time I played it} also has it and has started playing it along with me.
The other game I wanted to talk about is Candyland. Now the Candyland I played and the one we bought are a little different. {The game play is identical, but the character and board design is a little different.} Queen Frostine has been demoted to Princess Frostine and looks in her 50's instead of late twenties. She also wears pink instead of blue and is ice skating instead of ruling over the ice cream area. Lord Licorice looks goofy as opposed to the meanish look he used to have. I could go on, but you get the idea. Is just more... campy I guess? Anyway, despite the new character designs it's still as fun as I remember.
The game is 100% based on luck. And with that in mind you can be right in front of the rainbow colored block, and pull a Peppermint Forest card and go all the way to the near beginning. {As my husband discovered yesterday.} I was happy when he gave into my childish desire to purchase and then play this board game. I could tell he didn't think he'd enjoy it at all, but he got into it. I think he had a little more fun than I did. But it was still a blast. I think he needed that break from stressing over things. Maybe that's the reason I hold on to certain childhood games and habits. When you're having a really bad day or life is just pulling down on you the best way to unwind is some simple fun with someone close to you. Or so I believe.
Well guess I'll wrap up for now. Thanks for reading, I'll post a new one soon.
